Biology of Human Tumors Prognostic B-cell Signatures Using mRNA-Seq in Patients with Subtype-Specific Breast and Ovarian Cancer
نویسندگان
چکیده
Purpose: Lymphocytic infiltration of tumors predicts improved survival in patients with breast cancer. Previous studies have suggested that this survival benefit is confined predominantly to the basal-like subtype. Immune infiltration in ovarian tumors is also associated with improved prognosis. Currently, it is unclear what aspects of the immune response mediate this improved outcome. Experimental Design: Using The Cancer Genome Atlas mRNA-seq data and a large microarray dataset, we evaluated adaptive immune gene expression by genomic subtype in breast and ovarian cancer. To investigate B-cells observed to be prognostic within specific subtypes, we developed methods to analyze Bcell population diversity and degree of somatic hypermutation (SHM) fromB-cell receptor (BCR) sequences

متن کاملThe effect of exosomes derived from human ovarian epithelial cancer cells on the secretion of AMH and Inhibin in granulosa cells
Exosomes are secreted by different types of cells and known as biological packages. Exosomes have significant role in intercellular communications and involved in the development and progression of various diseases such as cancer. Inhibin B and anti-mullerian hormone (AMH) are markers of granulosa cell tumors (GCT) and due to the role of exosomes in the progression of cancer, in this experiment...
متن کاملProhibitin 2 mRNA downregulation in breast cancer tumor tissues
Introduction: Breast cancer is the most important cause of cancer mortality among women, therefore the study of its causative or aggravating factors seems necessary. In this study, the mRNA levels of the PHB2 gene were evaluated in tumor and adjacent non-tumor tissues of 50 women diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma of the breast. Methods: RNX-Plus solution was used to isolate total RNA fro...
متن کاملSorting out breast-cancer gene signatures.
The advent of technology for the analysis of human tissue samples for the activity of the entire genome initiated a quest for the molecular profiling of tumors. The aim of this quest was a better system for classifying cancers, a clarification of the origin of these diseases, a more accurate prognostic capacity than was previously available, and an improved ability to choose among possible ther...
متن کاملPRODUCTIO N OF PROSTATE-SPECIFIC ANTIGEN (PSA) BY A BREAST CANCER CELL LINE, SK-Br-3
PSA is a 33-KDa serine protease that is produced predominantly by prostate epithelium. However, it has been shown that about 30-40% of female breast tumors produce PSA and its production is associated with the presence of estrogen and progesterone receptors. We have now developed a new tissue culture system to study PSA production in breast cancer and its association with prognostic factors...
